About the Event
This year’s theme—Operation Homecoming—commemorates the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. We will gather to recognize and thank the Vietnam veterans who call the Jacksonville area home.
Our keynote speakers for the evening will be Gary Newman and Tina Pham.
Gary Newman is a retired U.S. Navy Master-at-Arms Chief Petty Officer who served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. Over his distinguished career, he served aboard seven Navy destroyers, including the USS Orleck which is now a permanent Naval Museum in downtown Jacksonville. Today, he continues his dedication to veterans as the President of the Vietnam Veterans of America Florida State Council.
Tina Pham is an entrepreneur and nonprofit leader whose personal story reflects the lasting impact of the Vietnam War. After her father fought against the communists, Tina was separated from him for six years before reuniting with him in the United States at the age of twelve. Her journey…
